How to hook up my Home Theater system to cable box?
I have a samsung home theater system and a hdmi tv. The home theater system has a dvd plaher in it . How do i get the cable box on the home theater system so i could hear it Surround Sound .
Best bet is to CONSULT THE USER MANUALs for your TV, home theater, and cable box!! Manuals generally have clear concise instructions with hook up diagrams. If you’ve lost or tossed the manual, Manufacturer’s generally have manuals available for download on their websites. You know the model number, we don’t, so we can’t Google it for you.
You need to look at the back of the home theater system, the back of the TV, and the back of the cable box to see what kind and how many inputs and outputs are available.
On my system, I run HDMI cables from my satellite box and my bluray player to my home Theater Receiver, then another HDMI from the receiver to my TV. Since I get local channels via antenna, I run a digital coaxial audio cable from the TV back to the home theater receiver.
Theater in a box systems (like yours) typically have few, if any inputs. If yours only has a digital input, best bet is to run a Digital Audio cable from the TV to your amplifier (assuming the TV has a digital output)
There are other possibilities, but it would be pointless for me to conjecture without knowing specifically what equipment you have.
